These are some wonderful rollers. I got them about a week ago and
just tried them out 3 days ago. Prior to having them I couldn't
quite find a hairstyle I liked. I'm African American and I went
natural for about five years. Recently I went back to relaxed hair.
However, since
then I got lazy. I spent about a month trying to figure out what
to do with my hair. I wanted a style that didn't require heat on
my hair, be easy to maintain and last for several days and one that
would look really good.
I tried out
the Sassy rollers and was so excited. My hair was shiny and beautiful.
They recommend curling it with dry hair but I rolled mine with wet
hair at first. I put the following products on my hair to do a roller
set with the Sassy Curlers:
* Motions Leave
In Conditioner
* V05 Curvaceous Curls Styling Mousse
* Carefree Curl Gold Instant Activator
* Palmer's Olive Oil Formula (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) which I'm
sure is what really gave it the shine it has.
(You may need
to spritz your hair with water to keep it wet if you do a roller
set and find strands of your hair drying too fast.)
I slept in them
and the next day took them down once I was sure my hair was completely
dry. I broke apart some of the spiral strands of my hair and sported
some wavy locks.
My hair turned
out to be about shoulder length when it was curly, which I found
to be most flattering for my face anyway.
They do say
the curlers are comfortable enough to sleep in but I found them
moderately uncomfortable because I'm not used to rollers. Anyone
not used to them might wake up with a headache in the morning like
I did. However, you will likely find them comfortable if you are
used to sleeping in rollers at night.
However, to
avoid it, I recommend drying your hair with a blow dryer (with a
cool setting if you want to avoid heat) and bonnet or a hood dryer
for 30 minutes to an hour (whatever it takes to get the hair dry)
and wrapping your hair up at night and sleeping with a silk scarf
on instead.
The curls from
the Sassy Curlers last 3 days for me as long as I wrap my hair at
night. You'll even find that the curls look better as they loosen
over each day (or at least I did).
I highly recommend
these curlers. The average head takes about 24 curlers. I purchased
48 thinking I'd need more but my hair took about 24-25. However,
I'm glad I have the extra ones. They're foam, so you never know
how long they'll last.
So if you have
some pretty long hair, you'll probably make do with 24 curlers but
might want to at least get 36 curlers to have extras.
I'm very pleased.
My mother saw my hair and said, "I should wear my hair like
that!" She loves the look. So you can imagine the response
you will get with the right style and right length of hair. :)
So, ladies of
all races will be very happy with them. Even us African American
women looking for a fabulous but easy hairstyle to maintain that
will last.
You'll be glad
you got them! Just be certain you have some good length on your
hair before you buy them and you won't be disappointed!
